Kindergarten readiness is often reduced to letters, numbers, worksheets, and whether a child can write their name. But children also need to communicate their needs, participate in groups, manage routines, tolerate frustration, solve everyday problems, care for their belongings, and approach learning with confidence. In this 2-hour self-paced course, preschool educators will explore readiness across the whole child. Participants will learn how to distinguish meaningful preparation from premature academic pressure, support independence without over-helping, and embed literacy, numeracy, executive-function, social-emotional, motor, and self-help skills within everyday Pre-K routines and play. Upon successful completion of the course, including the required instructor feedback component, learners will receive a certificate to upload to MERIT.
